The North American Hockey League (NAHL) will host their annual Top Prospects Tournament for the 2012-13 season in Troy, Michigan. The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament is an annual event which showcases some of the best talent the NAHL has to offer, while providing participating student-athletes unparalleled competition and exposure to the college and professional coaches and scouts.
The 2013 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will be held from February 18-20, 2013 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.
At the event, six teams comprised of the NAHL's top committed and uncommitted college players, including those recognized on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's "Players to Watch" list for 2013 draft-eligible players, which was released in October, will play a three-game round robin. Five teams will be comprised of players of from five different regions of the NAHL that are nominated by their coaches. The sixth team will be an 18U Selects team, featuring some of the best younger talent (majority 1995 birth years) currently playing in the NAHL.
The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) will also have representation at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, as all 17 teams will be on hand to play 3-4 regular season games in their second league-wide Showcase of the season from February 17-20, 2013, at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.
The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will also feature the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) Championship Tournament Series, in which all Midget Major (18U) and Midget Minor (16U) teams will compete for a league championship in their respective divisions from February 15-18, 2013, at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.
